Palak Paratha

Today I am sharing a recipe which makes a regular appearance in my home.

One of the ways that I include spinach in my daily diet is by preparing Palak parathas. It is quite simple to prepare and requires minimal additional efforts than those required for preparing a Roti.

Ingredients:

Palak (washed and finely chopped)

Salt

Spices - 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp cumin powder and a pinch of Hing.

10 ladle-measures of wheat flour (You can prepare roughly 25 parathas, depending on the size and thickness.)

Method:

Wash and chop Palak finely and set aside for ten minutes. Then add salt and spices to the same and mix well. Add wheat flour and prepare a soft dough. Roll out yummy parathas with Ghee or oil.

Tips:

  • You may also blanch the spinach, grind it into a fine paste and mix it with the flour to prepare parathas. However, kindly note that the parathas turn out green in colour which everyone may not find appealing.
  • I usually use only the leaves of spinach and preserve the stalks which can be used in either Dal or any gravy.

So do try out this simple recipe and let me know how it worked out for you!
